Re: Cyclers 1: The Interstellar Cycler
by Karl on Monday February 24, @07:02AM
Brilliant! This solution falls right in line with the philosophy of the idea--of incremental growth and making interstellar travel possible even for the smallest colony. Its problems are the problems of the cycler concept in general (maintaining velocity and turning); I can't see that it introduces any new difficulties.

I may just want to use this idea if I do more Cycler Compact books...

Another idea I've had, is that new "split off" Cyclers could alter their course into different "rings" which would allow one cycler ring to open up other intersecting rings, opening up new space for seeding colonies and trade.
