| As it happens, I created the cover art for this version myself (if you compare it with the Tor and Denoel editions, you'll see that their covers are quite different). This version was 90% done in Vue Infinite Version 6, with a little bit of photoshopery (is that a word?) for the text.
Your concerns about the rights of the cover artist are well placed. I would never use somebody else's work in such a way without permission.
