from the dept. I'm off to the World Science Fiction convention in Anaheim, CA this week. This in my capacity as a science fiction writer, of course, but worldcons attract polymaths from every discipline; any random person you meet could end up being a physicist, ecologist, AI researcher, doctor, lawyer, teacher or truck driver--and they're all equally interesting. Once I get back I'll be starting work on a site redesign for my other page at www.kschroeder.com.
