  What to Buy for Christmas

Now note that I'm not in this book and won't make a dime from it: WorldChanging is just cool, important and an endlessly fascinating read. Its production also has zero environmental impact thanks to the purchase of carbon offsets and other measures by the publisher.

This is the resource for everything that's both green and profitable in the 21st century. This is not your father's environmentalism; WorldChanging is not about self-sacrifice and the demonization of technology. It's about having our cake and eating it too--living well while living green. The techniques, organizations, products and contacts listed in this book will make you feel good about yourself while doing good for the world.

Lastly, but not least, this book is gorgeous. The production values are top-notch and the slip-case alone is a work of art. Nobody's going to be indifferent if you buy this for them for Christmas, whether they read it or not. And they will read it, because it's the kind of book you keep on the coffee table to impress guests, and then move to the bathroom because reading it is such a great way to pass the time.

So if you're interested in being healthy, wealthy and green in the 21st century, buy this book; and if you know anybody who's despairing about the state of the planet, then buy them a copy. It could well turn their life around.

Totally agree. Saw this book in Chapters, had to have it. A really useful and important work.
